Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin has been an actress across Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath. For this role she received the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. She was the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster in the category of Best Supporting actress for portraying the bright and curious daughter of Holly Hunter's lead role on the film The Piano. She was cast as Flora McGrath the daughter of a muffled Scottish pianist who in the mid-19th century moves back to New Zealand for an arranged marriage when she responded to an audition open to all when she was just nine years old and had almost no prior experience in acting. She moved into the United States as a teen. Paquin was in a brief role in the film's title role when she was just a young girl on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the TV version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 feature film Amistad. She portrayed teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). The actress played groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
